SINGAPORE, 23 November 2022 — Canon today announced the launch of the imagePRESS V1000, imagePRESS C270 and C265, and imagePROGRAF GP series to meet the varied needs of businesses and print service providers and support their digitalization journey. In a Business Times article2 on the topic of automation, it was observed from the Budget 2022 announcements and the 2021 year-in-review by Enterprise Singapore that there is a need for businesses to improve productivity and upgrade capabilities through technologies in order to be adaptable and stay resilient. Automation has been identified as a key area of concern among many business leaders in Singapore.
Vincent Low, Head of Enterprise Business, Singapore Operations, Canon Singapore, said: "Canon's latest commercial printing solutions are a testament to our commitment to continuous product innovation – with the aim of unlocking greater efficiency, productivity, and creativity for the printing industry through automation and cloud printing. Additionally, we have launched a ‘Say Yes’ campaign where we want our partners to be equipped with the capabilities to say ‘yes’ to any customer's request, no matter how big or small."
Effective Print Task Automation with imagePRESS V1000
Addressing the need for improving productivity, imagePRESS V1000 enhances work efficiency with task automation, freeing up time for users to focus on more imperative tasks that value-add their work. As a result, businesses are able to increase their output, quality and reliability.
Empowering PSPs to explore new business opportunities in the production printing market, the versatile imagePRESS V1000 prints on a wide variety of media and produces an extensive range of applications, from business cards and direct mails to booklets, posters, and other creative marketing collateral. As the first model in the imagePRESS next generation lineup, the imagePRESS V1000 delivers maximum productivity, consistent quality and reliability to boost production capabilities.
With a strong emphasis on task automation, the imagePRESS V1000 helps PSPs ensure colour repeatability and registration alignment effortlessly. The Inline Spectrophotometers (ILS) allow operators to easily perform advanced colour adjustments such as engine linearisation, colour profile creation, G7® calibration, and colour validation in a short span of time with minimal operator intervention. A new Precision Registration Technology helps operators ensure the alignment of duplexed sheets remain accurate and consistent during long production runs, while an optional Sensing Unit automatically detects prints with mismatched colour settings and adjusts accordingly.
Integrated with POD-SURF (Surface Rapid Fusing), the imagePRESS V1000 effectively maintains a consistent print speed of 100 ppm on coated and heavy media types up to 400 gsm, sustaining high efficiency when printing complex and mixed media jobs. The optional Multi-Drawer Paper Deck when used with the Bypass trays boost the paper input capabilities to create a wide array of premium applications. Equipped with remote alerts, operators can change media, toner and remove toner waste while keeping the imagePRESS V1000 running for maximum productivity.
The imagePRESS V1000 also features an innovative cooling system that cools paper immediately after fixing for optimum print quality, minimising the risk of waste due to warping, sticking or bricking. A new transfer technology creates the ideal transport path for each sheet of paper during the printing process, and ensures even colour distribution when operators switch between media types with different weights while printing.
Facilitate Light Production Amid Hybrid Work with imagePRESS C270 and C265
With hybrid work quickly becoming the norm, many companies are exploring a hybrid workplace model where employees can choose between remote locations and a physical office provided by the employer. To help employees navigate the hybrid work, the imagePRESS C270 and C265 can facilitate this transition with cloud printing capabilities.
As with Canon’s award-winning3 imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX multi-function devices, the imagePRESS C270 and C265 provide absolute ease of use with the same intuitive interface and navigation, while producing high quality, creative applications in-house and on-demand.
The imagePRESS C270 prints up to 80 pages per minute (ppm) in black and white, and 70 ppm in colour, while the imagePRESS C265 prints up to 70 ppm in black and white, and 65 ppm in colour. The Multi-Density Adjustment Technology (Multi-D.A.T.) enables the devices to perform real-time density adjustments while printing. Colour fluctuations can be prevented such that consistently high quality applications can be produced even when printing in large volumes. Additionally, the devices feature diverse print resolutions, including 190 lines per inch (lpi) and 170 lpi to attain high resolution images and text with superb clarity.
Designed to fulfil varied printing requirements, the imagePRESS C270 and C265 help users handle distinctive print formats including envelopes, heavy media and long-sheet banners, alongside the standard A4 and A3 media. Providing further flexibility, the devices support gloss, silk, plain and textured media, as well as a large range of in-line professional finishing. A new Multi-Drawer Paper Deck option addresses the need for high print volumes and mixed media with a maximum paper capacity of up to 8,500 sheets.
Equipped with fast print speeds, high image quality and flexible media handling, the imagePRESS C270 and C265 improve efficiency by empowering businesses with the ability to create professional-looking marketing collateral such as catalogues, flyers, pamphlets and posters in-house while meeting fast turnaround time.
Supporting hybrid work, the imagePRESS C270 and C265 integrate seamlessly with uniFLOW Online, a cloud-based print management solution that enables in-office and remote workers to collaborate easily, automating batch scanning, naming, filing and routing of documents to various cloud destinations. The devices also offer swift scan speeds of up to 270 images per minute (ipm) at 300 dots per inch (dpi), and come with a wide range of security features including a new auto recovery for system verification at startup, along with standard support for Trusted Platform Module.
Create Vibrant Output with the imagePROGRAF GP series
The imagePROGRAF GP series allows print houses to expand their offerings by providing high-impact vibrant prints made possible with aqueous pigment fluorescent ink, which is now available with large format printers for the very first time. With the easing of social distancing restrictions, more shoppers and travellers are back in physical stores. The ability to print vibrant, high-impact prints will help businesses attract this new wave of consumers.
The new printers are designed to meet market demand for vivid colour Point-of-Purchase (POP) displays and vibrant campaign visuals to drive business. The imagePROGRAF GP-540 (44 inch) and GP-520 (24 inch) use 10 pigmented aqueous inks and fluorescent pink ink, while the imagePROGRAF GP-5300 (36 inch) and GP-5200 (24 inch) use 5 pigmented aqueous inks plus fluorescent pink ink.
A new “Radiant Infusion” technology layers a newly developed fluorescent pink ink with other inks on the paper surface during printing, which enhances bright and soft colour reproduction, while the bundled PC software “PosterArtist Lite” enables users to create high impact posters easily, even for users with little or zero desktop publishing knowledge. In addition, the imagePROGRAF GP-540 and GP-520 feature red, orange, green and violet inks that expand the range of colour reproduction to achieve the largest colour gamut to date for the imagePROGRAF large format printers.
This highly versatile printing workhorse is equally adept at bringing to life vivid graphics and meeting the demands of the professional domain of proof-printing where colour reproduction accuracy is of paramount importance.
Imbued with the ability to create compelling advertisements and posters, enhanced with fluorescent colours, the imagePROGRAF GP-5300 and GP-5200 can support in-house production of large format outputs with increased appeal and visibility for numerous industries and businesses, including retail stores, the food and beverage industry, government agencies, and schools.
