Canon Expands Refillable Ink Tank Printer Lineup with Two New MegaTank Printers
SINGAPORE, 6 August 2024 — Canon today announced the launch of the MegaTank G3780 and G4780 printers, expanding its lineup of refillable ink tank printers. The new printers have an automatic duplex printing feature, which aims to enhance productivity for both home offices and small businesses by reducing the time spent on printing large volumes of documents. The MegaTank G4780 also has an auto document feeder that helps digitalise documents quickly, making it ideal for small enterprises with archival needs.
“The MegaTank G3780 and G4780 are perfect for high-volume home offices and small businesses. With their high print capacity, low running costs, and efficient performance, these printers offer a cost-effective solution for managing large print and scan jobs, helping users enhance productivity and streamline their workflow.” said David Yeo, Senior Marketing Manager of Consumer Business, Singapore Operations, Canon Singapore.
Cost-Saving Solutions
Both MegaTank models are designed to reduce printing costs by utilising high-yield ink tanks that can print up to 6,000 pages1 for black-and-white documents and 7,700 pages1 for colour documents on a bundled set of four ink bottles. In the Economy mode2, the printers can deliver up to 7,600 pages1 for black-and-white documents and 8,100 pages1 for colour documents. The printers are also compatible with the GI-71S low-cost ink bottles, to cater to users who print infrequently.
Convenient and Secure Wireless Connectivity
Supported by the latest WPA3 and TLS 1.3 standards, the printers’ Wi-Fi connectivity helps to safeguard against data snooping and allows users to print securely from distance. With the printers connected to the internet and registered with Canon cloud service, users can also print documents wirelessly from their smart devices or scan them for storage in the cloud via the Canon PRINT mobile app.
User-Friendly Operation
The MegaTank G3780 is equipped with a high-visibility 1.35-inch LCD display, while the MegaTank G4780 comes with a 2.7-inch colour touchscreen display. The operation panel on which the display is located, can be tilted for optimum visibility, allowing users to operate the printer controls with minimal effort.
Easy Maintenance for Minimal Downtime
With its easily replaceable print heads, the MegaTank G3780 and G4780 can reduce downtime, as if the need arises, users can change them without requesting for technical support. The maintenance cartridges in the printers can also be retrieved without the need for complicated tools, enabling fast replacement and making printer upkeep even more convenient and user-friendly.
