    Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB)
    Using the exposure compensation setting, you can capture images at different exposure levels, and then select the optimal image later as shown in the example below. This is called AEB (Auto Exposure Bracketing) shooting.
    By changing the shutter speed or aperture automatically, the camera brackets the exposure up to ±3 stops in 1/3-stop increments for three successive shots.

    NOTE
    • AEB cannot be used with flash, bulb exposures, or when [Multi Shot Noise Reduction] or [HDR Mode] is set.

    Setting AEB
    1. Set the camera's power switch to <ON>.



    2. Set the Mode Dial to < P / Tv / Av / M >.



    3. Press the <MENU> button to display the menu screen.



    4. Press the <> button and select the [ ] tab.

    5. Turn the <> dial and select the [ ] tab.

    6. Turn the <> dial to select [Expo. comp./AEB], then press <>.

    7. Set the AEB range.
    • Turn the <> dial to set the AEB range.
    • Turn the <> dial to set the exposure compensation amount.

    8. Press <>.
    When you exit the menu, < > and the AEB range will be displayed on the LCD panel.



    9. Take the picture.
    • If the drive mode is set to < / >, press the shutter button three times for each shot.
    • When < / / > , is set and you hold down the shutter button completely, the three bracketed shots will be taken continuously and the camera will automatically stop shooting.
    • When < / >, is set, the three bracketed shots will be taken continuously after a 10-sec. or 2-sec. delay.

    Three bracketed shots will be taken according to the drive mode set in this sequence: Standard exposure, decreased exposure, and increased exposure.

    (For a darker image)

    (For a brighter image)

    NOTE
    • During AEB, <> in the viewfinder and <> on the LCD panel will blink.
    • You can set AEB in combination with exposure compensation.
    • If the AEB range exceeds ±3 stops, the end of the exposure level indicator will display < > or < >.

    Canceling AEB
    • To cancel AEB, follow step 7 to turn off the AEB range display.
    • AEB will be canceled automatically when you set the power switch to <OFF> or when the flash is ready to fire.
