I have purchased a Canon product. How do I register for my product warranty?

If you are a Singapore resident, you can register for your product warranty on Canon Online Warranty Portal.
If you are a tourist in Singapore, you are entitled to the product warranty depending on the product group and country/region where you are from. Please refer to this page for more information. 

When and why should I register for product warranty?

We will recommend you to register your Canon product warranty as soon as possible. This will enable Canon Singapore to render the necessary service and coverage.  

You can register your Canon product warranty online here. For online warranty registration, you will be given additional three months of warranty on top of the Standard Warranty your product entitled.
Note: The warranty coverage starts from the date of purchase as indicated in the original sales invoice. 

Can I register for company-owned product apart from my personal warranty account?

Yes, you may select the product to be under Company-owned. Select YES to the first question which states “Is this a Company-owned Product” and fill up accordingly. 

During online warranty registration, I encountered the following error messages. What should I do?

Invalid warranty reg. number
Verify that you have entered the correct serial number and warranty registration number.
Check that your warranty card is issued from Canon Singapore.
If the error persists, please email us.

Invalid Date
Check that the date of purchase is within the last 2 years.
If you received your product later than the date you purchased it, please key in the delivery or collection date instead. 
If the error still persists, please email us.

Inactive Account

An activation email was sent to you at the time of registration.
Please check your inbox/spam/junk folder and use the link provided to activate your account. 
If you cannot locate the email, please email us.

4

Different model name

If the model in our system is different from the one you purchased, please email us.

Invalid serial number

Verify that you have entered the correct serial number. 
Check that your warranty card is issued from Canon Singapore. 
If the error persists, please email us.

I encounter an error message that states “Inactive Account” upon warranty registration. I have tried to reset password as well, but nothing helps.

  1. Upon registering your Canon product on warranty site, an activation link will be sent to the email address you used to register. Please check your inbox or junk folder for the activation link. Click on the activation link to activate your Canon account.
  2. If you did not receive the activation link, kindly send the email address you used to register Canon warranty account to this enquiry form.

What is the the warranty period and coverage for Canon products?

All Canon consumer products and certain Canon business products come with a standard warranty that covers defects in materials and workmanship.  Please  note that the warranty is void if the product is defaced or altered.

Can my product warranty be extended?

Depending on the product group, Canon offers Extended Warranty option for certain product groups with a cost.  You may refer to this page for the Extended Warranty Option details.  

Note:

1. Extended warranty can only be purchased up to one month before the Standard Warranty expires.

2. Extended warranty can be purchased directly from Canon Online Warranty Portal

Where do I purchase extended warranty for my Canon product?

Depending on the product group, Canon offers Extended Warranty option for certain product groups with a cost. You may refer to this page for the Extended Warranty Option details. 

You may purchase Extended Warranty for your product on Canon Online Warranty portal, upon registration of your product.
Note: Extended warranty can only be purchased up to one month before the Standard Warranty expires. 

Are products purchased locally in Singapore entitled for international warranty coverage?

Canon photographic products are warrantied only in the country of purchase due to varying pricing and taxation that occur in differing countries.

When purchasing Canon photographic products, do check the validity of the warranty through the local warranty card issued by the respective Canon sales country office.

If warranty is valid and should servicing of the product occurs, servicing has to be take place in the Canon sales country that product is purchased in.

If a valid local warranty is not included, the Canon product may not be authorised and covered by any warranty. Charges for service will apply.

I am a tourist. Can my purchased items in Singapore be warrantied?

If you purchased Canon products during your stay in Singapore, you are entitled to the product warranty depending on the product group and country/region where you are from.

How does warranty works for Camera Kit set (Body + Lens)?

For Camera kit sets, the camera body and len(es) have separate warranty coverage.

Please take note to:
1. Register your product warranty for both camera body and len(es) 
2. If you requires extended warranty for your camera body and len(es), do purchase them separately.
