Solution
This plugin was created to allow you to easily transfer the clips you recorded using the camcorder to Apple's Final Cut Pro non-linear editing system.
You can transfer clips to Final Cut Pro directly from a CF card inserted into a card reader connected to your computer. If your camcorder features a USB terminal, you can also connect the camcorder to the computer using a USB cable to import clips directly from the camcorder.
This plugin is compatible with Apple’s Final Cut Pro, version 6.0.6 or 7.0.0 to 7.0.3.
For computers running Final Cut Pro 7.0.2 or earlier:
It may not be possible to transfer or play back clips recorded with video configurations using the 50 Mbps (4:2:2) bit rate with the following combinations of resolution and frame rate: 1280x720, 29.97P; 1280x720, 25.00P; 1280x720, 23.98P. Upgrade to Final Cut Pro 7.0.3 or perform the following procedure.
1. Download Canon XF Plugin for Final Cut Pro from the Canon homepage and install it on the computer.
NOTE
- If the Canon XF Utilities Disc was included with your product, you can also install the Canon XF Plugin for Final Cut Pro from the disc.
2. When transferring the clip, select an Apple ProRes 422 option for [Target Format (Transcode to)].
