    Solution

If you want to scan documents from your computer over the network, you need to set up the machine for use in the network environment and install the scanner driver (Color Network ScanGear) to be used from your image-processing software, then perform scanning. The scanned images are stored in the application software. Alternatively, you can start Color Network ScanGear from word processing or spreadsheet software and store the scanned images directly in a file.
In order to scan documents over the network using Color Network ScanGear, follow the procedure below.

      IMPORTANT
      • You can use the Color Network ScanGear only in the network environment. You cannot use it with a USB connection.
      • Color Network ScanGear does not operate as a standalone application. In order to use Color Network ScanGear, TWAIN-compatible software (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint of Microsoft Office 2000 or later, etc.) is required. TWAIN is the technical standard for connecting computers with image input devices such as scanners and digital cameras.
      • No TWAIN-compatible application software comes bundled with the machine.
