Solution
In the following example, CanoScan LiDE90 will be set to start MP Navigator EX when a Scanner Button is pressed.
IMPORTANT
* In Windows XP, the program selection dialog box may open when you press a Scanner Button for the first time. In that case, select MP Navigator EX, then select [Always use this program for this action] and click [OK]. From the next time, MP Navigator EX will start regardless of the selected scan mode, and scanning will start automatically.
* Log on to an administrator account before making the settings.
* If MP Navigator EX is not specified as the application to start, you will need to select an application to start when you press a Scanner Button on the machine.
Follow the procedure below to change the response resulting from pressing the Scanner Buttons. Log on to an administrator account before making the settings.
1. Navigate to [Control Panel] - [Hardware and Sound] - [Scanners and Cameras].
2. Select [WIA CanoScan LiDE 90], then click [Properties].
3. In the [User Account Control] dialog box, click [Continue].
4. In the [WIA CanoScan LiDE 90 Properties] dialog box, select the [Events] tab.
5. In [Actions] on the [Event] tab, set MP Navigator EX as the application to start.
Set [MP Navigator EX Ver 1.0] for all events in [Select an event].
If MP Navigator EX is already set, click [Cancel] to exit.
6. Click [OK].
1. On the Windows taskbar, click [Start], then click [Control Panel], then [Printers and Other Hardware].
2. In the resulting screen, click [Scanners and Cameras].
3. Right-click [WIA CanoScan LiDE 90] and click [Properties].
4. In [Actions] on the [Event] tab, set MP Navigator EX as the application to start. Set [MP Navigator EX Ver 1.0] for all events in [Select an event].
If MP Navigator EX is already set, click [Cancel] to exit.
5. Click [OK].
1. On the Windows taskbar, click [Start], then click [Settings], then [Control Panel].
2. Click (or double-click) [Scanners and Cameras] in the resulting screen.
3. In the [Scanners and Cameras Properties] dialog box, select [CanoScan LiDE 90] and click [Properties].
4. Select an event in [Scanner events] in the [Events] tab, then set [MP Navigator EX 1.0] for [Send to this application].
If MP Navigator EX is already set, click [Cancel] to exit.
5. Click [OK].
Restart the computer.

* The settings are not effective until you restart the computer.
