To Users of PIXMA GX6070 and GX7070 Series Inkjet Printer - Canon Singapore

07 Sep 2021

To Users of PIXMA GX6070 and GX7070 Series Inkjet Printer

Thank you for using Canon products.

We have identified an issue where some GX6070 and GX7070 series inkjet printers may have small amount of ink leakage to printer exterior.

    Phenomenon:
When the function “Ink Flush” (which is used for maintenance) is performed a few times, or when the print head is replaced, a small amount of ink may leak to the outside, around the right side of the printer.

    Affected Models:

    Model Serial Number
    GX6070 KNDS00001 to KNDS00004,
    KNDT00001 to KNDT00024.
    GX7070 KNEC00001 to KNEC00064,
    KNGU00001 to KNGU00020,
    KNHB00001 to KNHB00060.

The serial number is located on the rear of the printer or on the label on the box.

    Temporary Solution:
We recommend that you avoid performing the “Ink Flush” function and/or replacing the print head.

Ink leakage can be temporarily avoided by updating the printer’s firmware. Please download and install the updated firmware version for your respective printer.

Please note that the updated firmware is for temporary use only, to prevent any possible ink leakage. If your printer is affected as described above, updated firmware will prevent ink leakage by restricting effectiveness of the function “Ink Flush”. So, recovery of print quality issues (that would require use of the “Ink Flush” function or print head replacement) may not be possible.

We strongly recommend that your printer is inspected/repaired (free of charge) by one of our authorised Service Centres as soon as possible for a permanent solution.

    Permanent Solution:
Free inspection and repair for this particular phenomenon on affected models is provided. Please contact your nearest service centre for any queries.

Canon continuously strives to provide our customers with high quality, reliable products that can be used with confidence. We offer our sincerest apologies to any customers who have been inconvenienced.
