    Solution

This section describes the procedure for installing the printer driver from the supplied CD-ROM (CD-ROM Setup). If you install the printer driver from the CD-ROM supplied with the printer, you can configure the printer to print in a network environment by setting the IP address and creating a port at once.
      IMPORTANT
Operational requirements and restrictions are indicated at the end of this page. Be sure to read these items carefully in order to operate the printer correctly, and to avoid damage to the printer.

      1. Connect the LAN cable to the LAN connector of this printer.
Connect a LAN cable that is compatible with the LAN connector of this printer according to the network.
      2. Connect the other end of the LAN cable to the hub.
      3. Press " " of the printer's power switch to turn the printer ON.
      4. Make sure that the LNK indicator (green) on the printer is on.
If the printer is connected by 10BASE-T, the printer is working properly when the LNK indicator is on.
If the printer is connected by 100BASE-TX, the printer is working properly when the LNK indicator and 100 indicator are on.
      ((A): ERR Indicator (B): LNK Indicator (C): 100 Indicator)
If the printer is not working properly, turn the printer OFF, and then check the LAN cable connection and hub performance. If the printer does not operate properly even after turning the printer ON, see "Chapter 7 Troubleshooting" in User's Guide (PDF manual) in the CD-ROM supplied with the printer.
      5. Turn the computer on and start up Windows.
      6. Insert the "LBP5300 User Software" CD-ROM supplied with the printer into the CD-ROM drive.
If the CD-ROM is already in the drive, eject the disk and re-insert it into the drive.
      NOTE
If CD-ROM Setup does not appear, select [Run] from the [Start] menu, enter "D:\English\MInst.exe", and then click [OK]. (The CD-ROM drive name is indicated as "D:" in this troubleshooting. The CD-ROM drive name may differ depending on the computer you are using.)
