With this update, the default administrator password is randomized.
• When the firmware is upgraded from a previous version, the administrator password remains unchanged until password reset is performed.
• If the password has already been changed, that password continues to be valid.
• If the password has never been changed, the printer serial number is used as the administrator password.
• The administrator password can be reset by Initialize printer settings.
• Each time the administrator password is reset, it will be replaced with a new randomly generated alphanumeric password.
For instructions on how to check the password,refer to the section titled ' Default Administrator Password ' in the Online Manual.

Caution

• Please use Firmware Update Utility Win 1.2.1 / Mac 1.1.4 or later to upgrade the firmware.
• If upgrading from V1.07 or earlier, you must first update to V1.90. Be sure to go through V1.90 before upgrading to the latest version.
• If Error EC51-330A is displayed on the printer, turn the printer power off and on again, then check the two points above and retry the firmware upgrade.
