Canon Unveils Ultra-Compact Document Scanners to Accelerate Business Efficiency and Digital Transformation
The high-speed imageFORMULA DR-C340 and DR-C350 offer the series' shortest width and increased sheet capacity for specialised document handling across various industries
SINGAPORE, 27 April 2026 — Canon today announced the launch of the imageFORMULA DR-C340 and DR-C350, a new generation of high-speed desktop document scanners designed to empower businesses in their digital transformation journey. With an ultra-narrow width of only 283 mm and single-pass duplex scanning of up to 80/100ipm1, the new scanners can handle diverse media types for document-intensive industries and departments—providing the performance required to streamline modern, space-constrained workspaces.
As businesses across Asia begin their transition to digital workflows, the imageFORMULA DR-C340 and DR-C350 provide the foundational tools required for essential digitisation. By converting physical documents into versatile digital assets, these scanners enable organisations to establish a reliable data baseline—a critical first step as Asia-Pacific is projected to be the fastest-growing region for cloud-based workload migration services globally.
"The acceleration of digital transformation initiatives has fundamentally changed how organisations across Asia capture and manage information," said Shinsuke Fukui, Senior Director, Regional Business Imaging Solutions, Canon Singapore. "Current digitalisation trends demand hardware that can keep pace with versatile, digital workflows while operating within the physical constraints of a modern office. By prioritising point-of-origin data capture and enabling seamless integration into automated workflows, the imageFORMULA DR-C340 and DR-C350 are designed to meet the technical requirements of businesses looking to minimise data silos and improve the accuracy of their digital records."
The imageFORMULA DR-C340 and DR-C350 are engineered to drive productivity across document-intensive sectors through:
- Ultra-Compact Versatility: With a 30% reduction in body volume2 and a compact width of only 283 mm, these scanners fit seamlessly onto front-line service desks such as bank teller counters and hospital registration desks.
- High-Volume Productivity: With an increased 100-sheet Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) capacity3 and rapid speeds of up to 50 ppm / 100 ipm1, these models are ideal for education institutions and government administration handling large batches of student records, employee files, or corporate tenders, significantly reducing the time spent on manual feeding.
- Specialised Media Handling: The ability to scan passports without a carrier sheet and support for extra-long documents (up to 6,096 mm) makes these devices suitable for healthcare and hospitality industries. Staff can quickly digitise documents from electrocardiogram (ECG) strips and prescription notes to national and travel identification cards. The newly supported Aztec code recognition streamlines the processing of airline ticketing and digital healthcare certificates for existing workflows.
- Intuitive Accessibility: Equipped with one-touch physical buttons, the scanners allow users to execute pre-configured scan jobs with minimal effort. Supported by CaptureOnTouch software, the scanners enable Optical Character Recognition (OCR), barcode and 2D code recognition, as well as direct routing to cloud applications like Microsoft® SharePoint®, Dropbox, and OneDrive. In addition, the DR Scanner Management Tool provides centralised control and monitoring of multiple devices to ensure consistent operational standards.
- High-Quality Imaging and Capture Accuracy: With advanced image processing tools such as Auto Colour Detection and Auto Resolution settings, the scanners ensure that every document is captured with optimal precision without manual intervention. To maintain the integrity of digital records, specialised modes such as Background Fill and Document with Photo Mode allow for the clear reproduction of identification documents required for government record-keeping and bank account opening procedures. Furthermore, features like Colour Enhancement and Colour Unevenness Reduction work to eliminate visual noise and ensure consistent, high-quality digital output, providing the accuracy required for professional archiving and automated data processing.
The imageFORMULA DR-C340 and DR-C350 are designed with environmental sustainability in mind, with features such as improved power efficiency. Both models consume 15.6 W or less during operation and 0.6 W in sleep mode. The series also meets stringent environmental standards, carrying Energy Star certifications.
