Canon Singapore’s Annual ‘Think Big’ Leadership Business Series: Navigating Politics, Technology and Business

SINGAPORE, 29 October 2024 — Canon Singapore Pte. Ltd. (Canon Singapore) hosts its annual ‘Think Big’ Leadership Business Series on 29 and 30 October, with the theme ‘The Year of Elections – Surviving and Thriving Amid Political Changes’.
Each morning features expert speakers on the intersection of politics, business and technology. Day one, covering “The Vision for Singapore, According to 4G”, dives into how local policy changes affect businesses and the workforce. For the first time, there will be a Mandarin session on the afternoon of the first day on the theme The Year of Elections: Surviving and Thriving Amid Political Changes. Day two will cover “The World in 2025”, analysing global political shifts and business implications.
The Day 2 Flex Forward segment, in partnership with TAFEP and SME Centre@SCCCI, will focus on the new Tripartite Guidelines on Flexible Work Arrangement Requests (TG-FWAR), effective December 2024. Speakers will provide insights and tools to help companies navigate this transition and talk about various aspects of workplace flexibility.
Each afternoon also sees the ‘Towards AI’ technology showcase that will preview a new cutting-edge Generative AI solution – Antelope Genie – developed to streamline and transform organisational processes.

‘Think Big’ Leadership Business Series
The two sessions, "The Vision for Singapore, According to 4G" and "The World in 2025," explore Singapore's future in both national and global contexts. The sessions aim to equip leaders with national, regional and global insights into the political and economic issues and how business leaders can capitalise on change to enhance business resilience and adaptability.
The event also features keynote speeches from Alvin Tan, Minister of State for Trade and Industry & Culture, Community and Youth on day one and Chan Heng Chee, Ambassador-at-Large, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Singapore on day two.
The session on day one focuses on Singapore’s 4G leadership and potential policy shifts affecting businesses and the workforce. The day two session addresses how Singapore can navigate new business challenges in a rapidly evolving global environment, concluding with a panel discussion on the outlook for 2025. Speakers include prominent figures from the field of academia, finance and various business sectors, who are experts in their fields.
‘Towards AI’ Technology Showcase
The Singapore government’s Digital Enterprise Blueprint1 revealed that nine out of ten enterprises have embraced at least one digital technology, enhancing productivity, fostering innovation, and generating quality jobs for Singaporeans. The same report also highlighted local SMEs demonstrating rapid technology adoption, increasing from 74% in 2018 to 95% in 2023.
To support businesses’ rising need for rapid technology adoption, Canon’s “Towards AI” technology showcase at the event will demonstrate how AI-powered tools can enhance business operations across departments.
The showcase will feature various AI solutions under Smart Workspace, including Generative AI-based cybersecurity tool to enhance threat detection, Workplace AI solutions to optimise office security and operations, as well as AI-driven video synopsis to accelerate post-incident investigations and provide actionable insights.
Guests can also preview Antelope Genie, a cutting-edge AI-powered content management solution that enhances operational efficiency through automated content extraction, analysis, generation, summarization, and comparison. This advanced content management tool uses large language model (LLM) technology to streamline operations by automating key processes.
Flex Forward Segment
The Flex Forward segment on Day 2 will see TAFEP and SME Centre@SCCCI coming together to share insights on the TG-FWAR guidelines, complemented by contributions from speakers at SME Centre@SCCCI and Canon Singapore, who will share key workforce trends and knowledge on building a robust employer brand to attract Gen Z talent. Participants will also learn how businesses can leverage technology to unlock Flexible Work Arrangement mobility, ultimately reshaping traditional work models for enhanced flexibility and productivity.
