Image Stabilisastion

When used with compatible cameras, you can push that stability even further, achieving up to 7.5 stops of image stabilisation, allowing sharp handheld capture in situations that will usually require a tripod.
Magnify Closer at 0.24x
The RF28-70mm f/2.8 IS STM is capable of focusing at a distance as near as 27cm at 28mm with AF.
The lens offers up to 0.24x magnification at the 70mm end, allowing you to get closer to your subject for detailed close-up shots.
Lead-Screw Type STM
Experience superior autofocus with the RF28-70mm f/2.8 IS STM, featuring the compact Lead-screw type STM.
It has a magnetic sensor, which accurately measures and controls the motor’s speed. Enhanced motor rotation and feedback control deliver exceptionally fast and precise autofocus, ensuring smooth, silent operation that meets the demands of both stills and video.
UD Lenses
The RF28-70mm f/2.8 IS STM is constructed with an arrangement of 2 UD lenses that are usually only found in L-lenses.
This configuration minimises the shift in the lens's centre of gravity when changing focal length for better ergonomic handling and efficiently corrects chromatic aberration.
Dust & Drip Resistant
Built with the same durability and shock resistance as L-lenses, this lens is designed for tough conditions. The control ring and switch panel are sealed to shield the lens from sudden rain or moisture when shooting near water, and to protect the collapsible body from dust and dirt.
