Canon Marks 20 Years of the PhotoMarathon with its Biggest Event Yet
Your Canon Event brings a maker festival to Singapore this July, alongside the milestone 20th edition of the Canon PhotoMarathon

SINGAPORE, 1 July 2026 — Canon Singapore today announced Your Canon Event, a three-day celebration of creativity, making and play taking place from 23 to 25 July 2026 at Urban Park @ Guoco Tower, Singapore. The event brings together a first-of-its-kind maker festival across two days and the landmark 20th edition of the Canon PhotoMarathon on 25 July, celebrating over two decades of the photography competition in Singapore.

Built around the idea that Canon belongs in the world of every person who makes things, not just photographers and filmmakers, Your Canon Event opens the doors of Canon's creative universe to content creators, crafters, gamers, artists, families and anyone who has a passion they take seriously. Entry is free and open to the public.

"The 20th edition of the Canon PhotoMarathon is a significant milestone that belongs to Singapore's photography community as much as it belongs to Canon," said Too Kok Yong, Head of Singapore Operations Group, Canon Singapore. "Guided by our philosophy of kyosei—living and working together for the common good—we are proud to expand this celebration to the wider community. Your Canon Event is an invitation to anyone who makes things seriously, in whatever form it takes. We hope to bring together creators and makers from all walks of life to inspire one another and discover that Canon has a place in their world too."

A festival for every kind of maker

Days one and two of Your Canon Event transform Urban Park @ Guoco Tower into an open, free-access maker festival running daily from 11 am to 8 pm.

Visitors can take part in workshops led by some of Singapore's most passionate hobbyist communities. Soilboy will host Kokedama and plant repotting, styling and photography workshops, while TableMinis will introduce participants to miniature painting and Dungeons & Dragons. Marian Carmel will lead a scrapbooking workshop for those looking to document their memories in a tactile and creative way. A dedicated pet photography workshop will also show animal lovers how to capture their companions at their best. Selected sessions are available on a first-come, first-served basis and may require a small registration fee.

Beyond the workshops, four activity stations will run across both festival days. Visitors can collect one stamp at each station before redeeming one random collectable card per stamp at a designated redemption counter. The cards are available in five designs of varying rarity and visitors who collect all four stamps will receive an additional fifth card. Those who complete the full set of five designs will stand a chance to win a Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark III. Guided photowalks have also been planned and Canon cameras and printers will be available throughout the space for visitors to pick up and use, with crew members on hand to guide rather than demonstrate.

The 20th Canon PhotoMarathon

On 25 July, the festival gives way to the main stage. The Canon PhotoMarathon returns for its 20th edition, over two decades after it first sent photographers into the streets of Singapore with a theme and a time limit.

This year's marathon is open to all cameras and all brands. Three themes will be revealed on the day itself, each with an allocated two-hour window to shoot and submit. Over $50,000 worth of Canon gear will be available as prizes across the Open and Student categories.

New for the 20th Canon PhotoMarathon: a video category, open for the first time in the marathon's history, with filming on smartphones welcomed. The theme for the video category will be announced at 00:01 on the 23rd of July. Participants have until 23:59 on the 23rd of July to shoot, edit and submit their entry. Winners will be announced on 25th July, the same time as the photo category at the event site.

Registration for the Canon PhotoMarathon is open now at yourcanonevent.sg.
