Equipped with Canon’s excellent optical technology and fulfilling the image quality requirements of 4K cameras, the lens also offers operability and good cost-performance. Its high mobility makes the lens suitable for news reporting, documentary and nature videography.

High Optical Performance That Meets The Needs Of 4K Production

The lens offers high optical performance that fulfils the requirements of 4K cameras with 2/3” sensors: Fluorite glass and UD glass in optimal layout minimize loss of sharpness and color fringing, ensuring corner-to-corner clarity. In-lens correction data that is suitable for BT.2020 color gamut ensures excellent color aberration correction, producing excellent image quality.

Ergonomic Design; Highly-precise Drive Positioning

The ergonomic design of the grip fits comfortably in the hand, ensuring that zoom and focusing operations are a breeze even when shooting on the shoulder for long hours. The high-performance digital drive unit incorporates a 16-bit absolute encoder, which feedbacks highly detailed information, making it extremely suitable for use with virtual studio systems. Three standard 20-pin connectors ensure that users can access the virtual terminal even in full servo set-up.

Compact And Mobile Super Telephoto Shooting Up To 1000mm

The lens offers a wide focal length range of 28mm to 500mm, achieving an 18x zoom magnification that is expandable to 1000mm with the built-in 2x extender. At the same time, with body-only dimensions of approximately
77.8mm × 122.5mm × 268.3mm and a weight of 2.76kg, the lens achieves the same compact, lightweight body as HD equivalent lenses. This outstanding mobility and portability makes the lens an excellent choice for shooting documentaries, news and nature.
