    Introduction
    Send images to a smartphone as follows.

    < Connecting to a Bluetooth-compatible Smartphone via Wi-Fi >
    • By connecting to a Bluetooth-compatible smartphone via Bluetooth in advance, you can connect via Wi-Fi simply by performing an operation on the camera or smartphone.

    • You can use Wi-Fi to connect to a smartphone that is not compatible with Bluetooth or a smartphone that cannot use its Bluetooth function.
    IMPORTANT
    • Before connecting to the camera, you must install the free dedicated Camera Connect app on the smartphone.
    • Please refer to "Related information" at the bottom of this page for specifications and system requirements of the smartphones which can be connected wirelessly.
    • Interface or functions of the camera and Camera Connect are subject to change for firmware update of the camera or application update of Camera Connect, Android, iOS, etc. In such a case, features of the camera or Camera Connect may differ from sample screens or operation instructions in this manual.
    NOTE
    • In the following explanation, smartphone setting procedures are indicated by the icon, and camera setting procedures are indicated by the icon.
    • For convenience, smartphones, tablets, and other compatible devices are collectively referred to as "smartphones".
    • When sending movies to smartphones, note that the supported image quality varies depending on the smartphone. For details, refer to the smartphone user manual.
    • The setting procedures and items may differ depending on the smartphone model you use and its OS. For more information, refer to your smartphone's instruction manual.
    • On the screen, wireless signal strength is indicated by the following icons:
    - [ ] high, [ ] medium, [ ] low, [ ] weak.
    • Connections require that a memory card be in the camera.

    Illustrations and screenshots in this manual may differ slightly from the actual equipment.

    Preparing the Camera
    1. Set the camera's power switch to <ON>.



    2. Press the < > button to display the menu screen.



    3. Press the < > button to select the tab.
     

    4. Turn the < > dial to select the [ ] tab.
     

    5. Turn the < > dial to select [Wireless communication settings].
     

    6. Press < >.



    7. Turn the < > dial to select [Wi-Fi settings], then press < >.

    8. Turn the < > dial to select [Wi-Fi], then press < >.



    9. Turn the < > dial to select [Enable], then press < >.
    • After the [Wi-Fi settings] screen appears, press the < > button to return to the [Wireless communication settings] screen.



    10. Turn the < > dial to select [Nickname], then press < >.
    • If the [Nickname] screen is displayed, press < >.
    • When using the displayed nickname, press the < > button.
    • You can change the nickname as needed. For more information on using the keyboard, please refer to "Virtual Keyboard Operation".
    • Turn the < > dial to select [OK], then press < >.

    Connecting to a Bluetooth-connected Smartphone via Wi-Fi
    1. Install Camera Connect.
    REFERENCE
    • Camera Connect can be installed from Google Play or the App Store. You can also access Google Play or the App Store from a QR code that you can display on the camera when registering the smartphone on the camera.

    2. Turn the < > dial to select [Bluetooth function], then press < >.



    3. Turn the < > dial to select [Bluetooth function], then press < >.



    4. Turn the < > dial to select [Smartphone], then press < >.



    5. Turn the < > dial to select [Pairing], then press < >.



    6. Turn the < > dial to select [Do not display], then press < >.
    • A message is displayed indicating that pairing is in progress.

    7. Activate Bluetooth on the smartphone, and then start Camera Connect on the smartphone.
    • After the camera is recognized, a camera selection screen is displayed.

    8. Complete the pairing process for the smartphone.



    9. Turn the < > dial to select [OK], then press < >.
    • On the pairing notification screen, press the < >.
    IMPORTANT
    • Battery life may be shorter when you use the camera after pairing, because power is consumed even when power saving is active.

    10. Choose [Images on camera] in Camera Connect.
    • For Android, it will automatically switch to the Wi-Fi connect screen.
    • For iOS, when the following screen appears, touch [Copy password and display smartphone's Wi-Fi settings screen].
    In the Wi-Fi menu, choose the SSID displayed on the camera, paste the copied password.
    NOTE
    [ Wi-Fi on ] is displayed on the camera.

    11. When the camera is connected to the smartphone, a list of the images on the camera will appear in Camera Connect. Tap [Select] appearing in the upper right of the screen.



    12. After the screen refreshes, choose the desired images ( ), and then touch [ ] ( ) on the bottom of the screen.
    • To select all images at once, press the [ ] icon in the upper right of the screen, and then touch [ ] on the bottom to save them on your smartphone.


    NOTE
    A screen to set an "Image save size" option may be displayed, so choose an option and touch [OK].

    13. After the images have been saved, touch [ ] appearing in the upper right of the screen, and then touch [ ] in the upper left of the screen to return to the menu screen.

    14. To end the connection, touch the [ ] icon displayed in the upper right of the screen, and then touch [YES].
    REFERENCE
    To switch to Bluetooth, disable the Wi-Fi connection on the smartphone.

    Connecting to a Smartphone via Wi-Fi from the [Wi-Fi function] Menu
    These steps show how to use the camera as an access point, but you can also use an existing access point.

    1. Install Camera Connect.

    Camera Connect can be installed from Google Play or the App Store. You can also access Google Play or the App Store from a QR code that you can display on the camera when registering the smartphone on the camera.

    2. Turn the < > dial to select [Wi-Fi function], then press < >.



    3. Turn the < > dial to select [ ], then press < >.



    4. Turn the < > dial to select [Register a device for connection], then press < >.



    5. Turn the < > dial to select [Do not display], then press < >.



    6. Check the SSID (network name) ( ) and password ( ).
    • "_Canon0A" is displayed at the end of the SSID.

    7. Turn Wi-Fi settings to ON in your smartphone, choose the SSID ( ) from step 6.
    • In the password field, enter the password checked in step 6 ( ).

    8. Touch the [ ] icon to start Camera Connect.



    9. On the camera selection screen displayed on the smartphone, choose the camera to begin pairing.



    10. Turn the < > dial to select [OK], then press < >.
    • [ Wi-Fi on ] is displayed on the camera.

    11. Touch [Images on camera] in Camera Connect.



    12. When the camera is connected to the smartphone, a list of the images on the camera will appear in Camera Connect. Tap [Select] appearing in the upper right of the screen.



    13. After the screen refreshes, choose the desired images ( ), and then touch [ ] ( ) on the bottom of the screen.
    • To select all images at once, press the [ ] icon in the upper right of the screen, and then touch [ ] on the bottom to save them on your smartphone.

    14. After the images have been saved, touch [ ] appearing in the upper right of the screen, and then touch [ ] in the upper left of the screen to return to the menu screen.

    15. To end the connection, touch the [ ] icon displayed in the upper right of the screen, and then touch [YES].

    The Virtual Keyboard Operation
    Use the virtual keyboard operation to enter information. Note that the length and type of information you can enter varies depending on the function you are using.
