Recording Movies at Specific Shutter Speeds, Aperture Values, and ISO Speeds (PowerShot G5 X)

    Solution

      Set your preferred shutter speed, aperture value, and ISO speed.
      The setting procedures are explained below.
      IMPORTANT
      Some shutter speeds may cause flickering on the screen when recording under fluorescent or LED lighting, which may be recorded.

      1. Set the mode dial to [ ] and press the power button to turn the camera on.
      • The shooting screen appears.

      2. Press the <> button to display the menu items, press the <><> buttons, and then choose the [ ] icon () appearing on the left side of the screen.





      3. Press the <><> buttons to choose [ : Manual ] from the options appearing in the menu on the bottom of the screen, and then press the <> button.





      4. When the settings have been completed, the following screen appears.
      : Turn the <> dial to set the [Shutter Speed].
      : Turn the <> ring to set the [Aperture].
      : Turn the exposure compensation dial to set the [Exposure].
      : Set the [ISO Speed]. For more information, please refer to Setting the ISO speed (PowerShot G5 X).
      IMPORTANT
      • [Exposure] () can only be set when the ISO speed is set to [Auto].

      5. Select the desired menu item in step 4, and then turn the <> dial or the <> ring to make the settings.
      • The shutter speed has been set with the <> dial in the example image above.

      6. Press the movie button <> to begin recording a movie.




      REFERENCE
      • During movie recording, you can switch the setting to configure.
      Perform the procedures explained in steps 4-5 to change the settings.
      NOTE
      • In [AUTO] mode, you can also adjust the exposure before recording by turning the exposure compensation dial.
      • When the ISO speed is fixed, an exposure level mark based on your specified value is shown on the exposure level indicator for comparison to the standard exposure level. The exposure level mark is shown as [ ] or [ ] when the difference from standard exposure exceeds 3 stops.
      • You can check the ISO speed in [AUTO] mode by pressing the shutter button halfway. If standard exposure cannot be obtained with your specified shutter speed and aperture value, the ISO speed is displayed in orange.
      • Focus can be adjusted during recording by touching [ AF ] (to switch it to [ MF ]) and then pressing the <><> buttons.
