SINGAPORE, 11 March 2020 - Canon today launched three new models under its LH series of projectors: the LH-WU350UST, LH-WX370UST and LH-WU5001. Featuring Canon’s High Lumen Density (HLD) LED light source, the projectors can be used for up to approximately 20,000 hours2 before a replacement is required, helping with the reduction in running costs over time.

“Canon is dedicated to addressing different needs of consumers through continuous product innovation,” said Edwin Teoh, Head of Marketing, Singapore Operations, Canon Singapore. “Equipped with a range of newly improved features, these three additions to our LH series incorporate the new High Lumen Density LED light source to bring about long hours of usage and better functionality in tight spaces through a more discreet ultra-short throw design.”

Enhanced Brightness with HLD LED Light Technology
In comparison to normal LED projections, where the light source spreads in all directions resulting in compromised brightness, HLD LED technology focuses the light source in a single direction and effectively maximises brightness. This is possible through the use of a series of high brightness blue LEDs that is directed into a patented phosphor rod, converting light into yellow output effectively and resulting in a bright source of projection.

With an added microlens on the LCD panels for these HLD LEDs projectors, light efficiency and brightness have been enhanced, boosting the capability to project vivid images with superior colour reproduction.

Long Lamp Hours for Lower Running Cost
Powered by the HLD LED light technology, the new LH series projectors can withstand long hours of use, operating up to approximately 20,000 hours before the need for a replacement. This is a huge step up from conventional high-pressure mercury lamps, which usually clocks in the 3,000 hours range, leading to increased operating and running costs. In the long run, with the reduction in downtime and operating longevity, users of the LH series projectors will find that they save more on both running costs and time.

Ultra-Short Throw LED Projectors for a Wide Range of Applications
The LH-WU350UST and LH-WX370UST projector models feature a more discreet and compact ultra-short throw (UST) design, which offers a throw ratio of 0.24:1, approximately equivalent to that of an 80-inch screen. With their compact dimensions, these UST projectors can easily fit into tight or limited spaces, meeting the needs of various different users and events and allowing for more creative usage in meeting rooms, class rooms, museums or event spaces.
